DEVELOPMENT OF A MODEL FOR A NATIONAL GAMBLING RESEARCH AUTHORITY
Hugh Watson Consulting was contracted to develop a model for a National Gambling Research Institute for the Department of Family and Community Services. The Hugh Watson Consulting team comprised Hugh Watson, Michael Moore and Margaret Goode.
Reporting to the Minister for Family and Community Services, Senator Patterson, the consultants consulted with State and Territory Ministers and their Departments, problem gambling organisations, the gambling industry and gambling research institutions. Several models were developed and a preferred model was discussed with the Minister.
Following the development of a draft report a second round of consultation was conducted with the jurisdictions prior to a Ministerial Council meeting.
